Tyler Wells, CPA

“Help!” cried your business, did you hear it?  Accounting is the language of business and your business’s numbers are its way of communicating with you. Just as a doctor checks his patient’s “vital signs” to assess her patient’s condition so to does the astute businessman carefully track and read his business’s vital signs by following the numbers.

Big mega-corporations spend hundreds of millions of dollars a year to have experts track and interpret their numbers, both financial and operational, because they know that to understand a business is to understand its numbers.  They want this information processed and made available in real-time in standardized, easy-to-read and understand reports.

“But Tyler,” I can hear you cry, “I own a small business!  I don’t have the time or the budget to pay attention to those things.  I need to produce and sell!”  Well, you’re right, kind of.

First of all, you are legally required to keep at least the basic financial accounting records by the IRS in order to prepare your income tax returns.  “Sorry, I just don’t have time for accounting” is not an excuse that an IRS agent will accept.

So, if you have to do it anyway, why not put an extra 5% of effort into it to really do it right?  Why not run your business based on relevant, timely, and essential information, just like the big guys do, instead of hunches and intuition?  Also, why not have confidence that your best interests are represented in your tax return, and that it won’t come back to haunt you in the future?

At WebBizFinance.com our business is making your business better through helping you master your finance and accounting.  We can guide you through the best practices and have your business running on quality information that you will swear that you will never live without again!
