The Wells Family

Shh, I love accounting!  Finance, numbers, spreadsheets and the quantitative aspect of business has always made my heart beat wildly.  But I don’t like to let it get around because I might look like, well, a nerd or something.   Over the years I found that the best way to maintain absolute social isolation at a cocktail party, chamber of commerce event, or a meet and great is to put the letters CPA behind my name.  While I am bubbling enthusiastically about the Sarbanes-Oxley Act people suddenly remember that they left the iron on, or that they forgot to take their Valium!
But the numbers are important!  Let’s face it, in business sales drive the short term but, if you plan on being in this for the long haul, taking care of business means keeping on top of your cash flow.
I’m in the same boat most of you are in, working in my profession as my wife and I struggle to get our small business up and running.  My dream is to be the advocate of and voice for thousands of people like you who are out their struggling to get their business and professions online and in the black.
Outstanding financial engineering for the web-based entrepreneur and professional isn’t just about taxes and budgeting; it’s about how our businesses are part of our lives and how to maximize the efficiency of our resources so that our business works for us, not just us for it.  For the entrepreneur, the distinction between business and personal is like how you see after 15 shots of tequila, really blurry.  Staying on top means planning ahead.  After all, it’s time to think about what your are going to do with the money you will make when your business takes off!
I am a Certified Public Accountant with a master’s degree in Public Accountancy from Indiana University and a passion for web based business.  I was a Peace Corps volunteer in the Small Business Development program in Guatemala, where I gained an appreciation for the thinly capitalized but absolutely essential business enterprise and an ability to swear exquisitely in Spanish.  Oh! also I found the love of my life and soul-mate there.  Currently, Miss Guatemala and I are back in Hoosierlandia (Indiana) where we work in public accounting and in developing our online businesses.
